NAYA DESIR-JOHNSON ATTENDS NAACP IMAGE AWARDS NOMINEES LUNCHEON; AWARDS SEASON CONTINUES

Naya Desir-Johnson joined fellow nominees and industry talent at the 57th Annual NAACP Image Awards Nominees Luncheon held on February 7, 2026, in Los Angeles. The luncheon celebrates this year’s nominees across television, film, music, literature, and other creative fields, and serves as a key gathering ahead of the main awards ceremony.
The NAACP Image Awards honor outstanding representations and achievements of people of color in the arts, as well as individuals and projects that promote social justice and culture through storytelling. This year’s nominees include acclaimed actors, filmmakers, and creators recognized for their contributions to impactful work in entertainment.

At the luncheon, Naya was joined by many of her fellow nominees, including celebrated talent such as Kyla Pratt, Chase Infiniti, Ambyr Michelle, and Melvin Gregg. NAACP leadership, including NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson and Vice Chair Karen Boykin-Towns, also joined the celebration.
Naya received a nomination for her performance in Sarah’s Oil, which earned a nomination for Outstanding Motion Picture — competing alongside Highest 2 Lowest, One of Them Days, Sinners, and Wicked: For Good — and she herself is nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Youth in a Motion Picture category, where she is recognized alongside Amari Price (The Knife), Estella K. Kahiha (The Woman in the Yard), Jahleel Kamara (Shadow Force), and Peyton Jackson (The Woman in the Yard).
The 57th NAACP Image Awards will culminate with the main ceremony on February 28, 2026, where winners in each category will be announced. The awards show brings further attention to diversity, representation, and excellence in creative storytelling.
In addition to the NAACP Image Awards, Naya has also been nominated for industry honors at the 33rd Annual Movieguide Faith & Values Awards Gala, reflecting a season of meaningful acknowledgement for her work and the stories she helps bring to life on screen.
